Facebook Colored Backgrounds

Colored background posts stand out in the Facebook feed and typically receive higher engagement than plain text updates. posterly lets you pick a gradient background for any text-only Facebook post.

Adding a colored background

1. Open the composer and select your Facebook page
2. Below the caption textarea, find the Colored Background section
3. Click any color swatch to select a gradient, or click the ✕ button to remove the background
4. The preview panel updates in real time to show how the post will look

Available presets

posterly includes 8 gradient presets:

• Blue
• Red / Pink
• Green
• Purple
• Orange
• Pink / Purple
• Yellow / Orange
• Dark

Important notes

• Text-only posts only — colored backgrounds only apply when your post has no media (images or videos). If you attach media, the background setting is ignored and the post publishes normally.
• Character limit — Facebook displays colored background posts best with shorter text. Longer captions may appear in a smaller font size on the gradient.
• No extra permissions — this feature works with your existing Facebook page connection. No reconnection needed.
• Facebook Pages only — colored backgrounds use the Facebook Graph API text_format_preset_id parameter, which is available for Page posts.
