Design Studio
Create social media graphics with the built-in canvas editor.
Design Studio is a canvas-based graphic editor built into posterly for creating social media visuals without leaving the app.
Accessing Design Studio
Go to Design Studio from the Creative Studio section in the sidebar.
Features
- Canvas editor — Drag-and-drop editor with text, shapes, and images
- Templates — Start from pre-built templates optimised for each platform
- Custom dimensions — Create graphics in any size (Instagram square, Story, LinkedIn banner, etc.)
- Export — Download as PNG or JPG, or use directly in the composer
- Saved designs — All designs are saved and can be edited later
Creating a design
- Click New Design or choose a template
- Add elements: text, images, shapes, backgrounds
- Customise colours, fonts, and positioning
- Export or send to the composer for scheduling
Multi-page designs
Create designs with multiple pages — perfect for carousel posts, slide decks, or story sequences.
- Add pages — click the "+" button in the page strip on the left
- Duplicate — copy any page to reuse a layout with different content
- Reorder — move pages up or down in the strip
- Delete — remove pages you no longer need (minimum one page always remains)
- Per-page undo/redo — each page has its own independent history
- Per-page background — set a different background colour for each page
- Keyboard shortcuts — use PageUp/PageDown to flip between pages
Exporting multi-page designs
When exporting, choose between:
- Current page — exports just the active page
- All pages — exports every page as separate images, ideal for carousel posts
Unsplash integration
Browse millions of free, high-quality stock photos without leaving Design Studio.
- Click the Image tool in the toolbar
- Switch to the Unsplash tab
- Search for any topic and optionally filter by orientation (landscape, portrait, square)
- Click a photo to add it directly to your canvas at full resolution
Attribution is included automatically as required by Unsplash.
