Fair Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-14
Posterly is built for creators and teams who use our platform responsibly. Our fair use policy ensures the platform remains fast, reliable, and accessible for everyone.
If we detect patterns that indicate abuse or excessive automated activity, we may apply temporary limits to protect service quality. For legitimate high-volume needs, we're happy to work with you on custom arrangements.
What is fair use?
- Posterly is designed for normal, human-driven usage of our platform and AI features.
- Fair use means using the platform as intended: scheduling posts, generating content, connecting accounts, reviewing results, and managing your social media presence.
- We monitor usage patterns to ensure the platform remains fast and reliable for all users.
API, MCP, and agency usage
- API and MCP access are intended for legitimate scheduling, autoposting, reporting, and workflow automation by the account owner, workspace members, or their internal team.
- Agency use is welcome, including managing multiple brands, client groups, and connected social accounts, as long as usage reflects normal social media operations.
- Higher-volume agency workflows may require a larger account allowance, API add-on, or custom arrangement as usage grows.
Media imports and uploads
- Public URL import is intended for direct downloadable image or video files that can be fetched reliably and safely.
- Large video workflows may require signed upload or direct upload flows so media can be transferred without routing large files through Posterly application servers.
- We may reject media URLs that are private, temporary, unsupported, too large for the selected route, or likely to degrade platform reliability.
What counts as abuse?
- Automated scripts or bots making excessive API requests
- Attempting to circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
- Using the platform in ways that degrade service for other users
- High-volume spam, scraping, or bulk media-transfer workflows unrelated to normal social media scheduling
- Reselling, white-labeling, or redistributing raw platform access without authorization
How we enforce limits
- If we detect usage patterns that indicate abuse or excessive automated activity, we may apply temporary rate limits to your account.
- You'll receive clear notifications if any limits are applied, with guidance on how to resolve the issue.
- We may ask high-volume customers to adjust their workflow, use the correct upload route, reduce request bursts, or move to a plan that matches their usage.
- For legitimate high-volume use cases, contact us to discuss custom arrangements.
Plan limits and high-volume usage
- Every AI feature has a monthly or daily usage limit shown in the product and plan information.
- We may apply additional temporary guardrails to protect performance and prevent abuse.
- Normal creator usage should not be affected. If you expect consistently high, legitimate volume, contact us to discuss options.
Brand Visual Adapter and AI image usage
- Brand Visual Adapter is available on Agency workspaces and uses the workspace's shared AI Images allowance.
- Agency includes up to 50 image-generation units per workspace per day. Purchased or bonus credits may be used after the included allowance is reached.
- Agency trials use the lower trial allowance shown in the product before purchased or bonus credits are required.
- Each unique aspect ratio counts as one AI image generation. Exact pixel sizes that share that ratio are resized from the same master and do not trigger another AI generation.
- Optional platform mockups create one additional Flash image per selected platform and are included in the estimate shown before generation.
- Source images are limited to 10MB. A run supports up to 30 outputs, including up to 8 custom sizes; custom outputs are limited to 4096px per side and 8 megapixels.
