Why consistency wins

The algorithm rewards accounts that show up regularly. Posting 3 times a week consistently outperforms posting 10 times in one week and then going silent. A content calendar turns "I should post something" into a system.

Three ways to view your schedule

posterly gives you three ways to look at your content pipeline:

Calendar view

A visual month view showing all your scheduled posts. Drag and drop to reschedule. Color-coded by platform so you can spot gaps at a glance.

List view

A chronological feed of upcoming and past posts. Great for reviewing what's going out this week and catching anything that needs editing.

Table view

A spreadsheet-style view with sortable columns. Filter by platform, status, or date range. Best for managing large volumes of content.

Building your first week

Here's a framework for getting started:

Monday — Share a tip, insight, or educational post. Start the week with value.

Wednesday — Behind-the-scenes content, process reveal, or personal story. Mid-week is for building connection.

Friday — Promotional content, product highlight, or call-to-action. End the week with a conversion opportunity.

This is a starting point — adjust based on what your analytics tell you (more on that in the analytics guide).

Using the "Next Available Slot" feature

Don't want to manually pick times? Click Next Available in the composer's date picker. posterly scans your calendar and finds the next open slot that:

  • Falls within your preferred posting hours (8am–10pm)
  • Maintains at least a 1-hour gap from other scheduled posts
  • Avoids times you've already booked

Batch scheduling

The most efficient creators batch their content. Block out 1-2 hours per week to:

  1. Plan 5-7 posts using the composer
  2. Schedule them across the week
  3. Review in calendar view to ensure good distribution
  4. Set and forget — posterly handles the publishing

Platform frequency guidelines

Different platforms reward different posting cadences:

  • X / Twitter: 1-3 times daily (high volume, fast-moving feed)
  • LinkedIn: 3-5 times per week (professional, lower frequency)
  • Instagram: 4-7 times per week (feed + stories + reels)
  • TikTok: 1-3 times daily (algorithm favors frequent posting)
  • Facebook: 3-5 times per week
  • Pinterest: 5-15 pins per week (more is better on Pinterest)
  • YouTube: 1-2 times per week for long-form, daily for Shorts
  • Threads: 1-3 times daily
  • Google Business: 1-3 times per week (keeps your listing active)

What's next

With a calendar in place, let's focus on creating content that actually drives engagement and conversions.
