What you can do on Facebook

Connect a Facebook Page and your AI client can publish text posts, images, videos, image carousels, Reels, Stories, and cover photos to it. Text posts can use a styled background, each post can go out as a regular post, a Reel, or a Story, and posts can run up to 63,206 characters, so long announcements are no problem.

A few rules save you a retry. Facebook carousels take images only. Reels must be 90 seconds or shorter, so send longer clips as a regular video. Stories take exactly one image or video, and a cover photo takes exactly one image. Reels can use a custom cover image.

The same connection reads your Page analytics. On the Pro plan or higher it also reads Page comments and Page DMs, so Claude can list what came in, draft answers, and send them once you approve the preview. Facebook Pages connected before 5 August 2026 need to be reconnected once before comments and DMs appear.

How to connect

  1. Add the hosted server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client. Server URL: https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp. Sign in with posterly OAuth and press Allow. Use the www host. In ChatGPT, write actions need a Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan.
  2. Or, in a client that can run a local process (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, and similar), use npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest with a POSTERLY_API_KEY placeholder in that client's MCP config.
  3. Call whoami and list_accounts so you know which workspace the client is using.
  4. Connect Facebook with the method below, then call list_platforms with view=schema and the account_id.
