MCP connector

TikTok MCP server

Schedule TikTok videos and photo slideshows from Claude or ChatGPT, as a direct post or a draft.

This is the posterly MCP server, used for TikTok. The same connection works from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is not a separate TikTok-only download.

What you can do on TikTok

TikTok is video first, and your AI client can post a single video or a photo slideshow of 1 to 35 images. Attach images and posterly sends them as a slideshow on its own, so there is no post type to set. On direct posts you can choose the cover frame of a video and pick the cover image of a slideshow, and photo posts can ask for recommended music.

The part to understand is how it publishes. When your request includes a privacy level (public, friends, or private), posterly posts straight to your profile at the scheduled time. Without one, the post goes to your TikTok inbox as a draft and you finish it in the TikTok app. Ask the assistant to check your TikTok creator info first to see which privacy options your account allows.

Direct posts can also decide whether comments, duets, and stitches are allowed, mark branded content, and label AI-generated content. Video captions can run to 2,200 characters, while photo posts use a title of up to 90 characters and a description of up to 4,000. The MCP server does not read TikTok analytics.

How to connect

  1. Add the hosted server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client. Server URL: https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp. Sign in with posterly OAuth and press Allow. Use the www host. In ChatGPT, write actions need a Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan.
  2. Or, in a client that can run a local process (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, and similar), use npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest with a POSTERLY_API_KEY placeholder in that client's MCP config.
  3. Call whoami and list_accounts so you know which workspace the client is using.
  4. Connect TikTok with the method below, then call list_platforms with view=schema and the account_id.

FAQ

What is the TikTok MCP server?

It is the posterly MCP server, not a separate product. Connect it once and the same connection covers TikTok and 17 other platforms, from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

How do I connect TikTok?

Add the hosted server at https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp and sign in with posterly, or run npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest in a client that can start a local process. TikTok: Ask your AI client to start a connection, open the link it gives you, and approve access on the platform.

Does the TikTok MCP post directly or as a draft?

Both. If your request sets a privacy level, posterly publishes straight to your profile. If it does not, the post lands in your TikTok inbox as a draft and you finish it in the TikTok app. TikTok holds only about 5 drafts at a time, so clear waiting ones before sending more.

Can Claude post a TikTok photo slideshow?

Yes. Attach 1 to 35 images and posterly schedules them as a photo slideshow automatically. Photo titles are capped at 90 characters and you choose which image is the cover. A single post is either a video or photos, never both.
