MCP connector

LinkedIn MCP server

Schedule LinkedIn posts, PDFs, and polls from Claude or ChatGPT, as yourself or as a company Page.

This is the posterly MCP server, used for LinkedIn. The same connection works from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is not a separate LinkedIn-only download.

What you can do on LinkedIn

Connect a personal profile to post as yourself, or a company Page to post as the brand. Your AI client then publishes text, images, video, multi-image posts of up to 20 items, PDF documents, and polls, with captions up to 3,000 characters.

LinkedIn rewards native formats, and the assistant can use all of them. A PDF goes up as a document post with a title of up to 100 characters. A poll takes a question of up to 140 characters and 2 to 4 options, open for 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks, and it cannot carry media. You can also add a link preview, a custom video thumbnail, a Buy now or Shop now button, and mention companies by name.

The same connection reads LinkedIn analytics. On the Pro plan or higher, the inbox reads comments on your company Page posts and can send public replies. LinkedIn has no direct messages here, and comments on personal profiles cannot be read, so those stay out of reach.

How to connect

  1. Add the hosted server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client. Server URL: https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp. Sign in with posterly OAuth and press Allow. Use the www host. In ChatGPT, write actions need a Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan.
  2. Or, in a client that can run a local process (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, and similar), use npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest with a POSTERLY_API_KEY placeholder in that client's MCP config.
  3. Call whoami and list_accounts so you know which workspace the client is using.
  4. Connect LinkedIn with the method below, then call list_platforms with view=schema and the account_id.

FAQ

What is the LinkedIn MCP server?

It is the posterly MCP server, not a separate product. Connect it once and the same connection covers LinkedIn and 17 other platforms, from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

How do I connect LinkedIn?

Add the hosted server at https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp and sign in with posterly, or run npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest in a client that can start a local process. LinkedIn Personal: Ask your AI client to start a connection, open the link it gives you, and approve access on the platform. LinkedIn Page: Ask your AI client to start a connection, open the link it gives you, and approve access on the platform.

Can I post as my company Page instead of my profile?

Yes. posterly has separate connections for a personal profile and a company Page, and your AI client posts to whichever account you name. Connect the Page when you want brand posts, Page mentions, and Page comments in the inbox.

Can Claude publish a PDF or a poll on LinkedIn?

Yes. A PDF is published as a document post and needs a title of up to 100 characters. A poll needs a question and 2 to 4 options, with a duration of 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks, and cannot include an image, video, or document.
