What you can do on Pinterest

Pinterest posts are Pins, and every Pin lands on a board. Your AI client can publish single image Pins, video Pins, and multi-image Pins of 2 to 5 images, each with a title of up to 100 characters, a description of up to 800, and a destination link.

Ask the assistant to list your boards first so it can name the right one. A video Pin takes exactly one video plus a JPEG or PNG cover image of up to 20 MiB, so upload the cover before you schedule. You can also add product tags and label a Pin as AI-modified. Images and video cannot be mixed in the same Pin.

Because each Pin needs its own board and link, batch work suits Pinterest well. Ask for a month of Pins around one theme, send each to the board it belongs on, and spread them across the weeks. Pinterest analytics come through the same connection, so you can see which Pins earned saves and impressions afterwards.

How to connect

  1. Add the hosted server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client. Server URL: https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp. Sign in with posterly OAuth and press Allow. Use the www host. In ChatGPT, write actions need a Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan.
  2. Or, in a client that can run a local process (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, and similar), use npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest with a POSTERLY_API_KEY placeholder in that client's MCP config.
  3. Call whoami and list_accounts so you know which workspace the client is using.
  4. Connect Pinterest with the method below, then call list_platforms with view=schema and the account_id.
