MCP connector
Telegram MCP server
Send Telegram posts, polls, and albums to a channel or group from Claude or ChatGPT.
This is the posterly MCP server, used for Telegram. The same connection works from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is not a separate Telegram-only download.
What you can do on Telegram
Telegram posts go to a channel or group through a bot you control. Your AI client can send text up to 4,096 characters, images, videos, GIFs, and albums of up to 10 items, with rich caption formatting. A caption on media is capped at 1,024 characters.
Telegram has native features the assistant can use. A poll takes a question and 2 to 10 options, can allow multiple answers, and cannot include media. Up to 3 inline buttons can link out to a page, though albums cannot carry buttons. Videos can have a custom cover and a start time, and a still image plus a short video can be sent together as a live photo.
To connect, create a bot with BotFather and give posterly its token along with the chat ID of the channel or group you want to post to. The connection is credential based, so there is no browser sign-in. The MCP server does not read Telegram analytics.

FAQ
What is the Telegram MCP server?
It is the posterly MCP server, not a separate product. Connect it once and the same connection covers Telegram and 17 other platforms, from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
How do I connect Telegram?
Add the hosted server at https://www.poster.ly/api/mcp and sign in with posterly, or run npx -y posterly-mcp-server@latest in a client that can start a local process. Telegram: Paste your credentials into the dashboard form. You can also give them to your AI client, but anything you type into a chat becomes part of that chat history.
Can Claude post to a Telegram channel or group?
Yes. The connection takes a bot token from BotFather and the chat ID of the channel or group you want to post to. Connect once per destination, then name the one you want in your request.
Can I add buttons or polls to a Telegram post?
Yes. A post can carry up to 3 inline link buttons, or you can send a native poll with 2 to 10 options. Polls cannot include media, and albums of up to 10 items cannot include buttons.
