How Much Does Facebook Reels Pay per 1,000 Views?

Facebook does not pay a fixed rate per 1,000 Reels views, and Meta does not publish one. Meta says the exact rate paid per play or view varies by factors like region and content quality. Outside guides report anything from a few cents to around a dollar per 1,000 views, but none of those figures come from Meta, and they conflict with each other.

How Facebook pays for Reels

Facebook pays through Facebook Content Monetization. Meta's announcement says the program combines In-stream Ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance Bonus, and that qualifying public videos, Reels, photos and text posts can earn money based on their performance. Meta's program page says the program is currently available to invitees only, with invitations sent periodically to eligible creators.

Meta's creator blog on performance-based payouts explains the principle. Reels earnings depend on the number of monetizable plays a Reel receives, the exact rate per play or view varies by factors like region and content quality, and ads do not have to run on your specific content for you to be paid.

Meta's content monetization terms add three details:

  • Earnings depend on one or more metrics, differ by content type and offer, and may not be linear. A Reel's play count does not map directly to a payout.
  • Meta pays the amounts it determines minus deductions, including those resulting from fraud or other legal violations.
  • Payments are made roughly 30 days after the end of the calendar month in which the earnings were generated.

What outside guides estimate

SourceReported range per 1,000 Reels viewsBasis
Adaptly$0.02 to $0.20 for most creators; $1 to $5 for a few in good conditionsCreator reports; no dataset
Vidpros$100 to $1,000+ per 1 million views, which is $0.10 to $1 per 1,000"Most creators report"; no dataset

These ranges overlap only partly, and the Vidpros article contains other figures that do not match its own total. Use them as a loose sense of scale: Reels payouts per view are generally small, so the money comes from volume or from combining Reels with other formats.

Why a million views can pay very different amounts

Two Reels with the same view count can earn different amounts because of where the viewers are, what kind of content it is, and which monetization offer applies. That is why a fixed per-view number does not exist. The best data is your own: the earnings reports in Meta's creator tools show what your content actually earned, so compare earnings to plays over several months.

Reel specs that affect whether you can post

If you schedule Reels through an outside tool, note that the Graph Reels Publishing API accepts 3 to 90 seconds, even though native Facebook can show Reels of any length. posterly's composer blocks the Reel destination for longer files and lets you switch that destination to Video to keep the full clip. The posterly Facebook platform guide covers formats, and the Facebook scheduler can queue Reels, posts and Stories. If you use an AI assistant, the Facebook MCP connector lists the supported post types and limits.

FAQ

How much does Facebook pay per 1,000 Reels views?

Meta publishes no fixed rate and says the rate per play varies by region and content quality. Outside guides report ranges from about $0.02 up to around $1 per 1,000 views, and none of them cite Meta data.

How do you get paid on Facebook Reels?

Through Facebook Content Monetization, which Meta describes as invite-only. Eligible creators are invited periodically, and payments arrive roughly 30 days after the end of the month in which they were earned, per Meta's terms.

How many views do you need to get paid on Facebook?

Meta does not list a single view threshold on the pages we could verify. Eligibility is by invitation, and Meta says it distributes invitations periodically to eligible creators. Check the Professional dashboard for any invitation.

Does Facebook pay for Reels shorter than a minute?

We found no length rule for payment in Meta's materials. Reels are short-form video, and they must be 3 to 90 seconds long when published through the Graph API. Native Facebook can show Reels of any length.
