What's New on posterly: August 2026

August was a shipping month: 26 releases across AI creative tools, the API and MCP surface, workspace collaboration, and the networks you already post to. Story Remix, Grok Imagine, and customer connect invites landed alongside a single AI credit wallet and a long list of reliability fixes.

AI & Creative Tools

Story Remix: one story design, up to ten on-brand versions (1.86.0)

Agency workspaces can turn one finished story design into 3, 5, or 10 variations. Text, colors, and logos stay as designed. Only the background, composition, and imagery style change, and every version comes back at the same dimensions as the upload, up to 4K. Read the update →

Story Remix: your versions stick around, plus Drive and Canva import (1.86.1)

Every generated version now stays in your media library with its own Story Remix tag. Latest runs stay on the page after a refresh, and you can bring designs in by drag and drop, paste, Google Drive, or Canva. Read the update →

Story Remix: animate your designs (1.88.1)

Story Remix versions, previous runs, and the uploaded original can now be animated with the actions you ask for, while every unmentioned design element stays protected. Read the update →

Grok Imagine joins AI Images and AI Video (1.88.0)

Choose xAI Grok Imagine Image 2.0 or Video 1.5 alongside Nano Banana and Veo, with the same posterly storage, credits, API, MCP, and CLI workflow. Read the update →

Draft quality makes AI Video roughly three times cheaper (1.85.0)

AI Video gains a third model tier. Draft costs 12 credits per second instead of Fast's 35, so an 8-second clip drops from 280 credits to 96. Explore an idea, then re-run the one you like on Fast or Standard. Read the update →

Draft images, and 2K drops a third in price (1.85.1)

A new Draft image model is 8 credits for cheap exploration, and 2K images drop from 35 credits to 23 after being priced alongside 4K by mistake. Read the update →

One AI credit balance for everything (1.82.0)

Every AI feature now draws from a single credit wallet: included monthly credits per plan, purchased packs that never expire, and one place to see it all. Existing balances were multiplied by 15 to match the finer credit scale, and the new packs are cheaper per credit. Read the update →

Fixed: AI images would not download or add to a post (1.85.5)

Generated images showed up in the gallery, but download and "add to post" failed with a fetch error. Media now loads through posterly itself instead of straight from the media host. Read the update →

API, MCP & Agents

API signed upload now goes straight to storage (1.88.8)

Large API video uploads no longer fail with CORS or FUNCTION_PAYLOAD_TOO_LARGE. PUT the file to the returned object-storage URL, then use public_url. Read the update →

Connect accounts straight from the API and MCP (1.86.0)

A new POST /api/v1/connect/{platform}/credentials endpoint and connect_account MCP tool let agents connect Telegram, Bluesky, Discord, WordPress, Dev.to, Hashnode, and Lemmy without opening the dashboard. Read the update →

Ask your AI assistant how many credits you have (1.85.2)

A new /api/v1/credits endpoint and get_credits MCP tool, so a connected agent can answer "what credits do I have?" without you opening the dashboard. Read the update →

Reading your credit balance no longer means handing over cancel rights (1.85.4)

API key billing permission is now two separate opt-ins. Let a tool read your credit balance without also letting it cancel your subscription. Read the update →

Fixed: agents could not post Instagram or Facebook Stories (1.85.3)

The npm MCP package demanded a caption on every post, which made media-only posts impossible. Stories carry no caption, so agents could never publish one. Read the update →

Grok Bot joins the AI agent lineup (1.88.2)

xAI Grok Bot can now schedule social posts through posterly using the hosted HTTP MCP endpoint, the REST API, or the reusable posterly skill. Read the update →

API & MCP checkout is now one payment (1.88.5)

Starting from /mcp and the other API pages, Starter + API is $10/month on one Stripe subscription. No free trial on that path. Homepage trial checkout is unchanged. Read the update →

AI agent guides now start the $10 plan + API checkout (1.88.6)

Claude, ChatGPT, Grok Bot, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes, and Poke guides point at the combined Starter + API checkout. Instagram and other social guides still offer the free trial. Read the update →

Complete Google Business reviews over the API and MCP (1.87.1)

list_google_business_reviews now returns every review a location has, with the full review text and its date, instead of the first 50 clipped to a couple of sentences. Locations also report their Google review count, so an empty result is no longer ambiguous. Read the update →

Workspaces & Agencies

Send customers a link to connect their own social accounts (1.88.7)

Workspace admins can email a one-time brand connect invite. The customer confirms their email and connects Instagram, Facebook, or another network without a posterly login, a team seat, or dashboard access. Read the update →

Lock teammate seats to specific brands (1.88.8)

Workspace owners can assign seats to specific brands so publishers and editors only see the brands they work on. Owners and admins still see every brand. Read the update →

Publishing & Networks

Per-platform media: each platform can carry its own media on one post (1.87.0)

A multi-platform post no longer has to share one media set. Any platform tab can opt into custom media: upload a different file, pick from the media library, or make a non-destructive platform crop of the shared image. Read the update →

Instagram Reels no longer report false failures (1.88.3)

Instagram sometimes reports an error when publishing a Reel with tagged people even though the Reel is live with the tags. posterly now checks the account and marks the post published instead of reporting a failure and retrying. Read the update →

Pick your LinkedIn Company Pages before they connect (1.84.0)

Connecting LinkedIn in company mode now shows a picker before anything is connected. Choose exactly the Pages you want, see your plan's account slots while you decide, and connect big Page lists with visible progress. Read the update →

Facebook comments, Page DMs, and first comment are live (1.83.0)

Meta approved the remaining Facebook Page permissions. Reply to, hide, and delete Facebook comments from the Social Inbox, handle Page DMs alongside Instagram, and attach a first comment to Facebook posts. Reconnect each Page once to switch it on. Read the update →

Support & Reliability

Support AI now files a human ticket when you ask (1.88.7)

Ask Support AI for a human and it opens a ticket, including on Starter. Large API video uploads now point at POST /api/v1/media/signed-upload instead of invented paths. Read the update →

Support AI can now cancel a plan and take close-account requests (1.88.6)

Ask Support AI to change or cancel a plan and it points at Account → Billing. Close or delete account requests now get a real path, including a deletion ticket when that is what you want. Read the update →

Google review alert emails no longer depend on a silent Google push (1.88.4)

New Google reviews still show in the inbox when you open Google Business. posterly now also polls connected locations every hour so the review-alert email sends when Google's real-time push never arrives. Read the update →
