How to See Who Liked a Comment on Instagram
Instagram shows the number of likes on a comment, but we could not find an official way to list who liked it. Here is what is confirmed, what is reported, and what to try.
Prefer posterly in Google Search?

Instagram shows how many people liked a comment, but we could not find any official Instagram documentation for a list of who liked it. Third-party guides disagree on whether such a list exists. One 2025 guide says it does, on mobile only, and that you reach it by long-pressing the heart instead of tapping it. We could not confirm that against an Instagram source, so try it in your own app and treat it as unverified.
What is confirmed
- The like count on a comment is visible. Each comment shows a heart, and the number beside it is public to anyone who can see the post.
- You can see who liked your own post. Several guides, for example PostSyncer, describe opening your post and tapping the like count to see the accounts that liked it.
What is reported but not confirmed
Post Bridge's guide, dated December 21, 2025, claims:
- On the Instagram mobile app, long-press the heart next to a comment, and a list of usernames appears.
- Tapping the heart only toggles your own like.
- The desktop website does not support it.
The article cites Reddit threads as its source, not Instagram, and says people found the gesture by trial and error. Other guides in search results say to tap the like count instead. These instructions conflict, and none link to an official Instagram page. Instagram changes its interface often, and a gesture that works on one app version may not on another.
How to try it safely
- Update the Instagram app, then open a post with comments.
- Tap the comment's like count once and see whether a list appears.
- If not, press and hold the heart. Be ready to tap it again if you toggle your own like by mistake.
- If neither works, assume the list is not available on your account or app version.
Be wary of third-party apps that promise to reveal who liked a comment, especially any that ask for your Instagram password. We found no evidence that any of them can get data Instagram does not provide.

If your goal is to engage, not to spy
Most people ask this to find out who is engaging with a post. Your post insights and activity notifications cover that better than comment-level likes. If you manage many comments, posterly's inbox can read and reply to Instagram comments and DMs on the Pro plan or higher, with a preview before any reply is sent. See the Instagram MCP connector for how that works with Claude or ChatGPT. Our Instagram platform guide covers what Instagram's ranking values, including likes versus sends and saves.
